Kolkata Police Constable 2024 Selection Process
The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) is considered responsible for conducting the recruitment process to shortlist eligible candidates for 3734 constable and women constable posts. It has been decided to conduct 5 stages of selection process for selection of candidates which are listed below in order.
- Written examination: a screening examination is conducted to shortlist candidates for the next stage of the selection process and the marks obtained by the candidate in this examination will not be considered for preparing the final merit list. It will consist of 100 objective type questions with a negative marking of 1 point for the correct answer and 1/4 point for the wrong answer.
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT): under the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) the physical standard i.e. height, weight and chest (for men only) will be included.
- Physical Efficiency Test (pet): candidates who have passed the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) will be shortlisted to appear in the Physical Efficiency Test, including a running competition.
- Final Written Examination: all candidates who have passed in PMT and pet will be called to appear in the final written examination which will be conducted by WBPRB. The board will decide the qualifying marks in this exam to appear in the next stage. It will consist of 85 objective type questions with a negative marking of 1 point for a correct answer and 1/4 point for an incorrect answer.
- Interview: this will be the final stage of the selection process for Kolkata Police Constable Recruitment 2024. Based on the marks obtained in the final written examination and interview, a merit list of provisionally selected candidates will be prepared. The interview will also test the candidates ‘ ability to speak Bengali.
